PPPoE - PPP Over Ethernet

The Sputnik AP 160 and AP 220 may behave unpredictably if frequently disconnected and reconnected to the Internet, which is what happens periodically with a PPPoE connection. Although there is functionality within the AP 160 web interface to configure PPPoE, it may not work for your environment.

In the future, the Sputnik Agent will be updated to be more resilient to intermittent connectivity. In the short term, the fix is to get a cheap D-Link, Netgear, or some other generic-brand router and use it for the PPPoE connection, placing it between the AP 160 and the DSL or cable modem.
